As explained in the online lecture, one way to have primarysource material for your research project is to create thequestions for an interview, to conduct the interview, and to reportyour findings within the paper. For this assignment, you are tocreate a series of questions you could use in interviewing someonewho is an authority on the topic you are researching. Some of youwill actually be able to utilize this technique as a way ofgathering information, while others of you will not have access tosomeone who is an authority. Thus, it will not be possible for youto use the interview technique. Whether you can actually make useof the interview questions or not, you should create a series ofquestions you could ask as if you were able to arrange for aninterview, either in person, over the phone, or possibly throughe-mail.
As you prepare the interview material, be sure to include thefollowing:
• Space for the name of theinterviewee
• Space for the date and time of theinterview
• Written purpose of the interview
• Topic to be dealt with
• At least 8 good questions thatfollow the guidelines delineated in the lecture. There should bespace following each question so you can insert notes.
Once you have created your interview document, Evaluate thequestions by asking:
• Will the questions elicitinformation relevant to the paper? Are they well organized, according to the criteria in the lectures?
• Has the individual followed theprescribed format?
