How Does Fat Affect the Survival of Probiotic Bacteria?
Null Hypothesis:
Fat does not affect the survival of probiotic bacteria (lactobacillus).
Dependent Variable:
The number viable lactobacillus in solution after it is exposed to the treatment.
Independent Variable:
The additional of fat (cream) to the diluted culture of lactobacillus
Controlled Variable:
Type of bacterial (lactobacillus)
Type of broth used to culture
The experiment is preformed under controlled laboratory conditions
Contamination of equipment is prevented by aseptic techniques
Method of counting the bacteria (lactobacillus)
Amount of HCl added to the bacteria (lactobacillus)

Control:
Total number of bacteria (lactobacillus) in the initial broth (109 cfu/ml)
