1 of 3 CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING, CIVIL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING Syllabus and General Information CIVI 464/6661/4 ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT Winter 2013 ==================================================================================================== COURSE OBJECTIVE The course is intended to provide an introduction to a variety of Environmental Impacts and the related knowledge and assessment methods, and to instruct students in the planning and implementation of Environmental Inventories, Audits, Impact and Risk Assessments for engineering projects and activities as well as to familiarize them with provincial and federal pollution laws, policies and regulations. A detailed analysis of Environmental Assessment techniques and models will be included in this course study. These techniques are generally used as tools to support the Environmental Decision Making process through quantitative and quantitative assessment of existing and potential impacts on the environmental and socio-economic systems.
