P1 requires a written report plus your completed Excel file sent to me by e-mail
attachment. The main purpose of the written report is for you to demonstrate to
me that you understand how to make the strategic connection on policies. I only
need to see you do that on one phase of the case, so IF YOU LIKE YOUR SCORE ON
P1, THEN YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO THE EXCEL PORTION FOR P2 TO GET THE SAME SCORE
AGAIN. Write a full P2 or P3 report only to improve your score. How long to make
the P1 report? The guiding principle is this: I love to know; I hate to read. So
tell me everything asked for in the instructions in the fewest words and
easiest-to-follow format. We have a big class! In the instructions you are asked
to give value-related reasons for your weights. You don’t have to tell me a
reason for every weight. You may have a dozen or more seperate weights. Just
tell me a value-related reason why there may be a general difference in weight
distribution from one family to the other and why some particular factor or
category of a family is weighted heavier than average for that family. Don’t
just write hoping you will accidently say something important. The result may be
that you just slow me down to more easily see your grammar errors and typos. (By
the way: I’m personally a lousy speller, and Bb doesn’t have a spell check in
all parts or allow us to cut-and-paste from somewhere else that does; so please
don’t take my online typing as your paper standard, and I won’t expect better
from you online either.) You will e-mail your assignment, but use this forum to
ask questions or share ideas with each other about P1. I’ll answer as I see a
need, but everyone should feel free to comment.
