Overview of Assignments #1, #2, and #3
The three main parts of the course
Notes:///87257B1300608584/DDD04CE0416432A887256A5C0052BA64/788685F88C85865687256F56005C3BBCNotes Link are each followed by an assignment. Each assignment is weighted equally (20% of the final grade). Although labelled as assignments, Assignments #1, #2 and #3 should be more properly thought of as multiple deliverables of a larger, single project. They are designed to sequentially lead you through the process of analysis leading to recommendations for improvement of the information processes in your business:
Assignment #1 asks you to identify the strategic considerations relating to IT in your business, and some of the principal information systems.
Assignment #2 asks you to assemble information about the present infrastructure (assets, resources, systems) that your business uses for information processes, and to make judgments about the quality of those resources, based on your personal knowledge and the information you gather for this assignment.
Assignment #3 asks you to use the information from Assignments #1 and #2 to recommend improvements in your business’ information infrastructure. You will also assess the benefits and risks of those recommendations.
It is anticipated that the three assignments will provide you with a practical and valuable take-away from this course.
Note: Given the nature of these three assignments, an executive summary is appropriate for Assignment #3 but is not needed for Assignments #1 and #2.
