Project Strategy (Individual but with Team Engagement)
The following is to be lodged by each individual prior to the end of the 24 hour tender period. Full procedural details for lodgment will be provided separately.
a) With respect to your chosen civil engineering specialization, identify the main components of the study area. Respond concisely to the following: In the planning and design of this system, which processes and pieces of infrastructure should be analysed quantitatively? Which should be analysed qualitatively? Whose interests need to be taken into consideration? Which measures of effectiveness and analysis tools (including codes, guidelines, software, desktop methods) should be used? Which time periods and horizons are important for analysis?
b) With respect to your chosen civil engineering specialization, how would you undertake a feasibility design study for the problem defined here? List the steps (you may wish to use a concept map approach) you would use in undertaking this feasibility design study. Describe each step and mention what you see as the key considerations. For example, if one of the steps is to obtain background information, what kind of information would you want to obtain?
c) For the problem defined here use an appropriate formal creative thinking process to generate an appropriate option package to recommend to your team to carry forward in this study.
d) For the engineering planning and design study that you need to undertake to respond to this brief, with respect to your chosen civil engineering specialization make a list of the activities involved and develop a Gantt Chart that shows the interdependencies between them.
