Rationale
The program report requires you as a developing professional to demonstrate your professional expertise in developing, implementing and evaluating a leisure/recreation for a group of clients you are working with in the real world, that is, your workplace learning placement site.
Task
Students are to conduct formal needs assessment in the setting, using the framework provided:
1) Identify a program gap
2) Date collection
3) Determine priorities
4) Literature Review
5) Describe target program
6) Explore the problem
7) Analyse of program development, implementation and evaluation.
Based on the outcomes of the needs assessment you are to plan, implement and evaluate a therapeutic recreation/diversional therapy program in the setting with a small group of clients.
The needs assessment should help to identify implement and evaluate the new or different recreational activity you will introduce into the aged care service. You should aim to develop a single program over a period of time, a single program (music therapy pgogram), music introduced over 6 x 1 hour sessions. Each session of the program needs to be planned, implemented and evaluated.
