author: Anna Lisa Raya.
In this argumentative essay my argument is that even though Raya states she suffered discrimination in the college from americans because she was latina. My
argument is that : I disagree that the discrimination is among only american people..i think the main discrimination come from Mexican people because most them when are asked where are they from they answered they are americans!!! ie, i am generalizing but 50% discrimination come from own mexican people!! In the essay Rays states her mom never wanted teach her Spanish ,why? she said her mom’ was afraid teach Spanish because that’s could be used against her..How someone can say that’s? A person who speaks Spanish in this country should feel blessed in speak two Language.

Your essay must include a brief summary in the first paragraph and three or four direct quotes from the essay you have chosen; quotes must not exceed four typed lines. Choose any argumentative essay from our textbook, Current Issues and Enduring Questions, except Hardin’s essay “Lifeboat Ethics,” since this is used for an example in the course. The essay you choose must come from the textbook. Let’s say you choose Paul Goodman’s essay “A Proposal to Abolish Grading.” Next, ask yourself whether you agree with Goodman’s argument that education at the university level, particularly at Ivy League universities, would improve if grading were abolished. Where do you stand? Take a clear stand in the form of a thesis statement and offer three reasons to support your thesis. Then incorporate a few quotes or paraphrases from Goodman’s essay to reinforce or refute opposing points. The dominant voice in the paper should be yours.
