At first I didn’t understand much because of the Korean words, but after I kept reading for a while I started to understand more. The idea that the girl thinks that the are going to heaven was good. However, I still think the story is still boring. Maybe that’s because we are still in the beginning. I want to read more to find out if it’s going to get better or not.
When they arrived to the USA, Young Ju though that she is in heaven and she is going to meet Harabugi and have a happy life but then she realized she was dreaming. Also, they had faced many problems like they want to have a big house but the problem is the money. They travelled to the USA to change their life to a happy life but in my opinion they still have the same problem which is the parents not agree with each other.
Her life had been changed and also she had the same problem in school which was she couldn’t understand English very well. Moreover, she made a good relationship in school but she was embarrassed because she was short comparing to her friends. Also, her mother got a job and her father was weird when he was trying to discipline Joon Ho to be a strong. She was mad at her father because he thinks boys and girls can’t be treated the same. Moreover, she strongly believed that she would win the lottery because she picked her favorite numbers and each number has a meaning for her. For example, number seven reminds her to the seven days that her lovely bird lived with her and so on. She was so excited while she was watching the TV and waiting for winning the lottery and achieve all of her dreams but unfortunately she did not win.
There are a lot of trouble happened to her family in the USA. Also, her father got in trouble when he was driving drunk and he got caught. That’s will change the family’s perspective about the father. Young Jo became a good girl because she did very well in her school while her brother act like his father.
Young Ju always goes to the library to avoid going home….
