Research Paper 2: Assessment criteria
You are to research an actual example of IT leveraging business advantage at a management level.
Discuss strategies, risks, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of using IT systems in a specific business at a management level. Consider issues such as short-term and long-term decisions for present and future strategies and business opportunities. Consider economical trends, industry changes, organizational risks that will affect the decisions for use of IT to maximize business goals for now and the future.
You must demonstrate in your report:
How management uses IT in a specific company (with a real life example of a company)
Discuss use of Decision Support System to make strategies decision for future (DSS)
Use of Management Information System for reports for that specific company (MIS)
Use of Expert Systems to do work for human experts for that specific company (ES)
Need to do the S.W.O.T analysis for MIS, DSS and ES system for managers. For S.W.O.T analysis don’t need to do the separate analysis for each and every system. It would be the common (e.g. what are the strengths of using MIS, DSS and ES for your selected company in a management level, likewise weaknesses of MIS, DSS and ES system at a management level in that particular company and so on.
Need to put an Executive Summary at the beginning and Recommendation at the end including conclusion.
Word limit for your assignment is 2,500.
