STAT 2000 Project 2: Hypothesis Testing (80 points total) Objectives: Identify a claim in print, summarize the article, conduct a survey, perform a hypothesis test to verify or dispute the claim, and write your conclusions in a report. There are 2 parts to this project with separate due dates. You may work individually or in a group of 2 or 3 students. I encourage you to work with a group as I believe that enhances the learning experience. Project Proposal Part 1 (20 points) Due on or before Thursday, April 11th ?? Write a brief summary of the claim including when the survey was conducted and the source of the article. ?? Include a statement saying why this topic is of interest to you. ?? State if your hypothesis test is for a mean or proportion. ?? State the exact question and format you plan to use for your survey. The survey answers must be anonymous so include how you plan on collecting the data ?? Describe how you will collect your data and who you will choose to survey; the goal is random sampling. For example, the article may have stated the population is All Americans and you plan to sample BGSU students. Then your population is BGSU Students. Your claim should be in written and symbolic form. You may not use a claim that another student group is using. If two projects have the same claim the project that was turned in first (i.e. before the due date) will get…
