Step 2: Carefully read the section at the above web page about the “ fully-functioning person”. There are five qualities listed:
Openness to experience
Existential living
Organismic trusting
Experiential freedom
Creativity
Step 3: Post a paragraph to the discussion board describing your reaction to Rogers’ five qualities. You might choose to address one or more of the following issues.
Which of these qualities do you think are most important for full-functioning? Which are least important?
Could any of these qualities be measured for research purposes? If so, how would you measure them?
Are these five qualities related to personality? If so, how?
How does Rogers’ view compare with that of Maslow and other humanistic psychologists?
