Debbie, you have potentially identified a viable candidate for a topic in the study of the problem of conflict resolution at Cisco. However, there are several problems with this paper.
The most significant problem is that you have not adequately described that a problem related to conflict exists at Cisco. What is the evidence of such a problem? How do you know that it exists? More importantly, how can you demonstrate to your readers that the problem exists? Currently, the only evidence that such a problem exists is your flat statement that it does. That is insufficient. You are preparing to earn the degree of Master of Science in Management, and in order to qualify for that degree, you must think like a scientist. That means basing your observations and conclusions on solid scientific research and on demonstrable evidence. Please attend carefully to my comments throughout this paper to see where rather than relying upon science and evidence you are making assertions of fact based upon opinion.
The next most significant omission from your paper is related to your misunderstanding of the purpose of the section “Scope of the Investigation.” The purpose of that section is not to provide a review of the literature of conflict resolution. That requirement is for a future assignment. It is to address the following requirements:
• Discuss the general investigation of the problem
• Is there a particular methodology, sequence, or order you want to develop in your review?
It does not accomplish that purpose.
How do you propose going about researching the problem of conflict resolution at Cisco? What methodology do you propose to employ?
