Krantz (2009), entitled “Psychotropic medication use and risk of adverse cardiovascular events in women with suspected coronary artery disease’ suggests that women with coronary artery disease (CAD) who report taking antidepressant or anti-anxiety medications have a higher risk of having an adverse cardiovascular event (e.g., heart attack or stroke) than those women not on these medications.
