Quantitative Analysis for Management (12th Edition)
Chapter 8 HW
Jadatech Inc. manufactures four different types of chairs. Each
type of chair is made by gluing and assembling together a different
mixture of pine and oak chips. The following table summarizes the
required amount of gluing, assembling, and mixture of wood chips
required to produce a pallet of 50 units of each type of chair:

In the next production cycle, Jadatech has 5,700 quarts of glue;
720 hours of assembling capacity; 30,200 pounds of pine chips; and
62,500 pounds of oak chips available. Further assume that each of
the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf, and Miami chairs can be sold for
profits of $150, $890, $520, and $360, respectively. How many of
each type of chair should JadaTech manufacture.
a. Write out the Model including the objective function and
constraints.
b. What is the numerical values of the:
1. Optimal profit
2. decision variable values?
c. Make a list that shows which constraints are binding and
which have slack.
d. Attach a screen capture of the Solver solution.
