Species richness
and which will have the largest c value?
We can represent the relationship of species richness to area with the equation: CAz n logarithmic form, A Constant Species richness Log s log c+z log A Slope Area S number of species, and c and z are both constants. High values of z indicate steeper slopes and greater increases in species number as island size increases. Habitat islands often have lower z values because they may contain more transient species that are simply passing through an area.
