Take-home Final Exam
Time: allowed :3 weeks (3-23) Jumada Althania

Develop a model (a set of models) to estimate the population of one of the countries (shown below), for the next 20 years. This should be considered as an aggregate model. This model may be broken down (i.e., disaggregated) into several sub-models to estimate the number of Moslems and non-Moslems; male and female; literate and illiterate and any division you may prefer or think of.
The final report of the research should include all the main four elements of IMRAD system: introduction, methodology, results and discussion.
The main sources of the data of demography are the censuses of the selected country plus the United Nations (UN), the World Bank (WB) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Other relevant sources may be searched and data can be obtained through informal friendly contacts, official visits or by writing letters.
The data should be analyzed and plotted on graph paper for clarification and simplicity.
The proposed (suggested) methodology is the Time-series Technique which is a simple and straightforward method to use. All engineers and scientists are supposed to have taken one statistical/forecasting and/or modeling course(s). You may need to refresh your memory by reading about the Time-series Technique from your own textbook of the relevant courses you may have taken or in any other sources. Detailed comprehensive work is not required but, of course, it will be highly welcomed.
Tables and figures may be needed as an explanatory form. Discussion must be comprehensive.
