Often lumped together, how do the Minoan and Mycenaean societies compare in terms of their history and art?

To address this question, choose one Minoan and one Mycenaean painting, sculpture, or building either from the module or from your own research. How do these works compare in terms of function, style and subject matter? What do we know for sure about the Minoans (what are the key facts of their context)? The Mycenaeans? How would you summarize the Minoan vs. the Mycenaean styles of art. You may want to address issues like religion, geography, gender representations, politics, animal symbolism, and materials used.
