Case Description: Debra Sampson is an Internal Communicator for a small Pharmaceutical company. Her main job is to communicate with the sales force of about 200 representatives traveling across the countries and aboard. Debra keep close contact with company’s research lab and product managers. Information about new research findings and new testing results needs to be disseminate to all the sales representatives in the shortest time. To achieve this goal, Debra has to travel frequently to deliver presentations. Also, an e-mail list is created to send bulk e-mail to all sales representative. Debra is also responsible to collect feedbacks and recommendations from the sales representatives. Every month, Debra would summarize email, phone calls, and personal conversations with sales representative and write a report for the top management. The information collected by Debra is very valuable for future product development. The main problem of using e-mail as the main tool of communication is manageability.
