World View and Education Policy
Aerts (2007) defines world view as “a coherent collection of concepts and theorems that [must] allow us to construct a global image of the world, and in this way to understand as many elements of
our experience as possible” (p. 8). According to Aerts and his coauthors, world view provides a template for explaining, predicting, and assessing global reality and our role in it. World view encompasses self-interest, social, political, economic, and religious values and ideologies.
